How can I extend the length of a cable tie?

Have you ever been in the middle of a project only to find that your cable ties are too short? Cable ties can be lengthened by connecting two identical cable ties. When choosing your cable ties, please remember that the thicker and therefore heavier the cables, hoses, pipes or other items are, the more tensile force the cable ties have to withstand. This applies especially if you want to hang the bundled objects or mount them on the wall.

How do I connect two cable ties?

If your cable tie is too short, extend it by inserting the tail of one cable tie into the head of the second cable tie. Be careful not to push the strap in too far. Stop as soon as the teeth engage for the first time. Now you have a longer cable tie that you can cut to the desired length after bundling.

If you connect several cable ties, they can be used in a variety of ways. We have collected a few clever applications for you in our cable tie tricks.
